Jeffrey Sauls is a member of Kurt Salmon Associates' (KSA) Consumer Products Division with a focus on Sourcing, Manufacturing and Distribution. He has worked with the leading apparel/textile branded suppliers and retailers to develop global sourcing strategies, improved sourcing practices, operational/facility designs, network planning, and implementation of lean practices. Jeffrey has led client/consulting teams domestically and in Asia to improve operations and sourcing practices. He also developed and actively manages KSA's proprietary Sourcing Benchmarking Database. A resident of Mooresville, NC, Jeffrey works from KSA's Atlanta office

Tony Ward leads the Sourcing, Manufacturing & Transportation practice for Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA). Over the past 18 years, Tony has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world to assist with the transformation of their global sourcing strategies, complex transportation networks, and manufacturing/direct sourcing shifts to low cost countries. Tony has spoken at CSCMP, AMR, Gartner, WERC and many other supply chain forums. He has been featured in more than 50 articles, and is a contributing author to two books. Tony is a member of the Executives Club of Chicago, CSCMP and the Supply Chain Council.

Kurt Cavano,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, 

Kurt Cavano is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TradeCard, Inc., a technology and services firm that has automated the procurement process for corporations from order through settlement. He has held this position since January 1999.

Under Mr. Cavano’s leadership, TradeCard has grown from a concept and dozen employees at its New York headquarters to over 125 employees in offices throughout the United States and in offices in Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Shenzhen, Colombo, and Brussels.

Previously, Mr. Cavano was a Vice President at American Management Systems, an international business and information technology consulting firm. He managed the Corporate Banking Practice of the AMS Finance Industry Group.

Mr. Cavano has more than 20 years of experience assisting corporations to improve their business performance through the intelligent application of technology. Featured as one of World Trade Magazine’s 50 most influential people, Mr. Cavano is a frequent speaker and writer on issues involving international trade and global supply chain management.

Tom Slone,
Vice President of Sourcing,
Carhartt, Inc.
Tom Slone heads up Carhartt Inc.'s global sourcing team located in Irvine, KY. Tom has more than 35 years of apparel manufacturing and sourcing experience with some of the most recognizable brands in the industry. He has directed plant engineering and plant management and has established strategic vision for domestic manufacturing as well establishing and/or refining global sourcing operations for the companies he has worked for. He is a member of the AAFA Government Relations Committee.

Kathleen Peterson, Director of Sourcing, REI Gear and Apparel, Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI)

Kathleen Peterson is the director of sourcing at Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), a national retail cooperative providing quality outdoor gear and apparel. REI operates nearly 100 stores in 27 states, two web sites (REI.com and REI-OUTLET.com), and an adventure travel company, REI Adventures. REI is well known for its commitment to outdoor advocacy, stewardship and involvement in the outdoor community.

Kathleen has more than 20 years of experience in the apparel industry. She joined REI in 2007. In her role, Kathleen oversees all aspects of REI's branded gear and apparel materials and finished goods sourcing and vendor development. Prior to REI, she was with the adidas Group where she was the vice president of global costing for apparel and footwear in the company's Herzogenaurach, Germany headquarters. While at adidas, she also served in the capacities of head of global apparel planning and logistics, and director of sourcing for adidas America. She started her career at Polo Ralph Lauren, L.P. in New York, and spent 12 years in progressive management roles.
