Career Moves - April 2009

Footwear and apparel company Crocs has named John Duerden, a former Reebok president and COO, to the same post. He joins the company from the Chrysallis Group, a consulting group he formed in 2006 that is focused on the development and renewal of brands.

Perry Ellis International has hired Anita D. Britt as CFO. Britt has more than 15 years of experience in the apparel and retail industries and most recently served as executive vice president and CFO for Urban Brands. Before that she spent more than 12 years at Jones Apparel Group Inc, holding leadership roles within finance and investor relations. Interim CFO Thomas D'Ambrosio returns to his position as senior vice president and corporate controller.

Richard Struthers has been appointed the new member development manager of the Organic Trade Association (OTA). Prior to joining the OTA, Struthers held sales positions with a few organic and natural products distribution companies, including Northeast Cooperatives, United Natural Foods (UNFI) and Alberts Organics.

Apparel and footwear company Wolverine has named Todd Yates vice president of marketing and apparel. He is overseeing the marketing and apparel operations for Wolverine, Bates and Hytest Safety Footwear Network. Previously Yates worked for brands including Columbia, Woolrich and The North Face.

David Bennell recently became the new executive director of Organic Exchange (OE). Bennell was formerly the director of the Forest Stewardship Council Global Fund and manager of product research, testing, and environmental affairs at LL Bean. LaRhea Pepper, the executive director of OE since 2005, will be the senior director of the organization.
