Panjiva Launches "App Store for Global Trade"

Panjiva, an information source for global suppliers, has announced the launch of the "onPanjiva" program, which will allow organizations with information about global suppliers, such as certification organizations, government agencies and credit bureaus, to apply to publish this information onPanjiva.

Information published through this program will be available to global trade participants via Panjiva Search, a search engine for global trade.

onPanjiva is part of what the company reports is its broader strategy to continually build and diversify its data sources as a means of providing clients with the robust and accurate information they need to make strategic supply chain decisions.

Recently, Panjiva also announced that information from several affiliates would be available on Panjiva Search, including certification information from SAI and WRAP, global trade "red flag" information from deKieffer & Horgan and credit information from Sinosure.

"Just as the App Store connects iPhone users with applications they want, onPanjiva connects global businesses with relevant information they need -- to engage in global trade and mitigate supply chain risk," noted Panjiva co-founder and CTO James Psota.

Between now and August 31st, 2009, global businesses can nominate information providers that they would like to see on onPanjiva. The first company to nominate an information provider that ultimately publishes its information on onPanjiva will receive one-year's worth of free access to information from this provider. Information providers can also nominate themselves for inclusion.
