American Apparel CTO To Deliver Closing Keynote at Tech Conference West

Stacey Shulman, Chief Technology Officer for American Apparel, will deliver the closing keynote address, "Building an IT Innovation Team," at the upcoming Apparel Tech Conference West, to be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at LA Trade Tech College. The conference is produced by Apparel Magazine, and complimentary registration is available to qualified apparel retailers, brands and manufacturers at apparelmag.com.

Shulman is responsible for technology, web and asset protection for American Apparel globally. She has more than two decades of experience in retail-focused technology and is a specialist in international growth and localization. The solutions architected by Shulman and her teams are currently in use in myriad retail locations in more than 75 countries.

In this highly informative and in-depth session, Shulman will share her philosophy on the cultural shift needed in order to move past a traditional IT "break/fix" mentality and into an innovation-focused and consultative mentality with a goal of helping propel your business forward. Against this backdrop she will share some of the exciting IT projects in motion at American Apparel, such as RFID (including a new project to achieve real-time item movement tracking on the sales floor), progress with an augmented reality mobile app, innovations in the brand-new American Apparel distribution center and more.

The Apparel Tech Conference West is designed to help executives strengthen their firm's strategic direction, technology roadmap and overall competitiveness. Included are up to a dozen expert-led educational sessions focused on design, PLM, ERP, all-channel retail, supply chain management, information technology, mobility and more, as well an exhibit area where attendees can meet one-on-one with leading technology solution providers.

To date, technology sessions will be presented by Dematic, Gerber Technology, Infor
Lectra, NGC Software and SheerID.

Registration is complimentary for qualified apparel brands, manufacturers and retailers only. Visit apparelmag.com to register.
