Avery Dennison's Online Packaging Guide Provides Packaging Options, Design Ideas For Apparel Merchandisers

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Apparel and accessories merchandisers can now turn to an informative new online resource from Avery Dennison to evaluate packaging options, access creative design ideas and refresh their package-production knowledge. 

The online guide, called " Custom Packaging with Avery Dennison," can be accessed at http://www.ibmd.averydennison.com/pkgguide. The entire 44-page document is available to download or print.

"It is part tutorial, part thought starter and part package-design aide," says Alexandra Brownfield, director of product management. " Beyond that, it describes a range of Avery Dennison services that can be tapped globally, such as custom packaging engineering assistance and project management."

The new guide was created for apparel and accessories merchandising executives who have expressed a need for an industry-specific source of packaging knowledge and assistance.

"The guide is part of Avery Dennison's ongoing effort to deliver innovative packaging solutions that look good, help stimulate sales and support the customer's brand," adds Brownfield. " We can often identify how to reduce the total cost of packaging, including materials, labor and distribution expenditures. Plus, Avery Dennison checks, tests and verifies the end result of every package solution to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction."

Primary sections in the guide include: an "Introduction to Custom Packaging," "Packaging Solutions," printing and finishing techniques on structural and flexible packaging, and an extensive glossary of packaging terms. Photos, drawings and diagrams illustrate the many finishing options available for each package type.
