announced the introduction of several product enhancements designed to further improve the functionality, reliability and ease-of-use of the company’s retail offerings. The expanded line, which includes a magnetic stripe and smart card reader (MSCR) for the Dolphin 9700
mobile computer and a sled handle for the Dolphin 6500
mobile computer, will be on display at NRF 2011 inside Honeywell’s booth #1937.
The addition of the MSCR accessory expands the capabilities of the Dolphin 9700 by enabling convenient reading of magnetic stripe and smart chip-encoded identification and credit cards. The MSCR accessory allows for seamless mobile point-of-sale (POS) purchases, ID validation, age verification, and automatic electronic form population, leading to shorter wait times and an improved customer experience at the point of purchase. Further, the Dolphin 6500 sled handle provides a productivity-enhancing solution for applications that require high volume scanning such as inventory management and stock replenishment. This quick and easy modification allows a single device to be used in both in-store and backroom environments.
“Through our continued focus on research and development, Honeywell is consistently identifying enhancements to our products that will help to better serve the retail end-user,” says Scott Tubbs, director of strategic accounts, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “The introduction of our newest product enhancements at NRF substantiates our leadership and commitment to the retail space.”
Honeywell will also demo the new Voyager 1200g scanner at the show. Announced late last week, the device delivers superior scanning performance and unmatched readability on poor quality or damaged bar codes.
In addition to the company’s product portfolio, leading solutions from the following companies will be displayed in the booth: Appriss, Aruba Networks, CodeBroker, Cornell-Mayo Associates, LOC Software, Magstar, New West Technologies, pcAmerica, pss Software and Retail Pro.
